See-through 1.

It is so much fun to touch, feel, wear see-trough fabrics. And I realized how much fun to paint them. Normally I paint on panels, but this time I painted on linen. Well, it is fun the see-through fabric and  struggle to paint on this surface, gesso doesn't help much...
May be I am snobbish... 'linen is so hard for me', silk is my favorite.
And to have a photo... well... it is not the best one, you have to see-through.
No matter what, I wanted to share.

Deep Deep Blue

Dreaming of holidays

and deep blue seas

as they go together...

So it's no wonder that my newest silk scarf is full of 

blues and full of greens greens and a dash of turquoise...

and bubbles, waves...

Ohh, lovely days by the sea...

Abstraction

Sometimes  scarfs want some unindetified-abstract patterns on them.  Just because they want to be colorful and eye-catching and conspicouos...  but no...  not so much... They want to be a little bit elegant also.

And dyes and wax make perfect work together on them and those patterns become harmonious. A dash of blue in the reds and yellows... colors just blend and wax is strict to stop them. And they end up as a colorful silkscarf, ready to play along a new life.

 I see those blue thread-yarn-lines a bit fine.

Finer than I thought it would be.

 May be one or two need to be thicken... ?

A piece of shimmering silk and dyes

make me feel magic.

This time was poppy-heads time.

One of my favorites. 

I don't know how it exists, 

how this form is possible, this poppy-head form...

Have you ever examined a form like this? 

I am completely amazed.

This silk shawl flowers.

As the light varies from hour to hour

the flowers grow and bloom 

and  change their "outfit"in the light.

 No one tell them to change. It happens. 

They change from pale to bright and back to pale.

New shades from hour to hour. 

Life lives new colors.

Celebration Of Colors...On My Handpainted Silk Scarfs

Painting and dyeing silks is a process of full enjoyment.
Dancing colors on the surface and suddenly the silk drinks them all as they move and blend.
When I see the brilliant colors my heart is pounding. Excitement and zest.
* Sometimes I let them live their natural life.
* Sometimes I stop them by borders.
* Sometimes I dye or paint layers.
* Sometimes I use silk as my canvas mixing techniques and mediums.
