I was hooked by this 'new for me technique'.

So this is an other attempt.

I always wanted deep blue eyes for me... :-))
So here they are.
No, seriously. I found this lovely tutorial on how to paint easy portrait.
It is fun though  I choose the harder way... I didn't have lightbox and my paper was too thick... so I drew instead of copying.
But... the result. Wow. Look at those deep blue eyes.
Look, Nature: finally I got those.
And there is no moles on the skin. Satisfactory.

Yes, that double chin also belongs to me.

Study.

I am a newcomer of a Paint and Draw Together blog. 

As I found their challenges lately, of course I want to join. 

Even though the deadline is over.

Well, it is gonna be nice to see improvements when we see back from a year down the line.

The first challenge was this theme: Bartlett Pearls on Marble

Glasses

I was totally amazed by the colors and light that was through these glasses. So I painted a color study.

As I see this on my monitor I can see that slight changes are needed. Even though the blue one was like this, I am not completely satisfied... I think I should have shown more of the blue glass, as its shape is not come through.

Painting this study made my color-thirsty-part-of-me completely satisfied.

The task seemed easy and became more difficult as it unfolded into details.

Which Way to Go?

Dear Fellow Lover of Color,

it takes time to glean signposts and

decide which way is good or best for us.

Sometimes it takes more than we thought it would.

And there are crossroads where we stop for a moment:

'which way to go?'

And it takes time to paint them.

Even if I do have or don't have answers at all.

Do you remember the excitement, when you were child and you got a new toy?

When I got a new toy and went to sleep I saved some room for my toys on my pillow.

Sometimes I had only a few square centimeters left for myself, because there were the old ones as well. And I wanted to be fair with the old ones. I wanted them to be part of my dreams.

(It is strange that quite a lot of my clients in therapy complain about the opposite. They don' want to continue and dream about their daily life. Their life are full of bad things, so they don't even let themselves sleep at all. But this is a different story.)

So this memory was recalled by the excitement that happened when I was painting this picture. The picture landed on my small table beside my bed. I was awaken suddenly in the middle of the night and felt that I was still painting it.

I can state that something has changed ... has happened...

Conclusion? It is fun to paint figures.

Meditation

Meditation as a child does.

Do you remember when you were child and had

a few moments of rest in the kitchen?

The kitchen stool was so uncomfortable that your tights

got strips at the back.

Childhood memories came to surface as I painted

this picture. No, this is not me on this picture.

The meaning of life. Zen moment.

Evaporated moment.

Before the beer gets warm.

So much fun to paint them.

Cyclamen

Small daily experiment, watercolor. I had a lot of fun to paint this small beauty. I found this new tool 'watercolor on paper' thing exciting. Although I used to paint on silk, I captured old habits that didn't work on paper. Funny. Facing limitations. Mine. And the limitation of the medium. This makes me think new variations. I plan to paint new variations. More texture.

I want colors, I used to say, more colors. And when I see this lilly, each and every part of me stop for a while. Look at this amazing color! Bright and pale and orange and red and a dash of light. White light. Simply amazes me.

A taste is closed in the bottle. How amazing that we can

close a quality into bottles.
