Poppies in June

June. Red poppy-fields are nearby. I haven't seen so many, full of red, red poppies. They feather softly in the wind. Their redness are dissolved by some yellow and white and purple flower-islands. And if you lean on them there are small petals like wings in the wind. The whole view is a poem itself.

Apple Day- oil painting

It is fun to paint an apple. More apples are more fun.

One reason is the 'model' is eatable,

so the pleasure factor is double.

One of our first play is hide and seek. We blink and "hide". I think that not much changes until we are grown ups. We often want to be "invisible" for a moment and then we want someone to be glad for us that "we are found".

Appleberry - oil painting

It is fun to paint an apple and a strawberry. But it is not so fun to title them. I think it is a different cerebration. May be I need more neural links. But how to build that?

Anyway I play with the thought that as a painter I can dedicate myself to a specific theme.

Strawberry for example. 

Well... I know my myself, I would be persistent for few days... may be to the beginning of strawberry canning season. 

Thanks God, I can paint various themes. It is liberating.

Red Petals- oil painting

"You don't always want to paint rose petals, do you?"- asked my husband when I showed him my angry lion. To tell the truth, it is fun to paint petals, like these red ones. Even more if they are in backlight.

Deep Blue Eyes

I always wanted deep blue eyes for me... :-))
So here they are.
No, seriously. I found this lovely tutorial on how to paint easy portrait.
It is fun though  I choose the harder way... I didn't have lightbox and my paper was too thick... so I drew instead of copying.
But... the result. Wow. Look at those deep blue eyes.
Look, Nature: finally I got those.
And there is no moles on the skin. Satisfactory.

Yes, that double chin also belongs to me.

Dogs at Play

Playing  on the beach. 

Isn't it a dream  of each of us? 

So look how it is.

Playing freely... a little bit biter... but not so that it would hurt.

In a few minutes we change roles.

When I considered myself full time textile artist, I used to paint water soluble pigments mainly on silk.

I loved to experiment new methods, new styles. And the need to paint realistically was rarely there. I was 

very happy to paint symbolic elements and stories and scenes like one does in illustration. My focus was on colors and the symbolic world was a perfect area to express them.
This time as I experience a new medium -I never used acrylic before I mean in a figurative sense-, I still want to try new approach. New to me, classical to others... :-)
I would like to share its sensation. Those lovely and live colors on petals, completely charms me.

Glasses

I was totally amazed by the colors and light that was through these glasses. So I painted a color study.

As I see this on my monitor I can see that slight changes are needed. Even though the blue one was like this, I am not completely satisfied... I think I should have shown more of the blue glass, as its shape is not come through.

Strange to see it on a photo.

 I see those blue thread-yarn-lines a bit fine.

Finer than I thought it would be.

 May be one or two need to be thicken... ?

A piece of shimmering silk and dyes

make me feel magic.

This time was poppy-heads time.

One of my favorites. 

I don't know how it exists, 

how this form is possible, this poppy-head form...

Have you ever examined a form like this? 

I am completely amazed.

This silk shawl flowers.

As the light varies from hour to hour

the flowers grow and bloom 

and  change their "outfit"in the light.

 No one tell them to change. It happens. 

They change from pale to bright and back to pale.

New shades from hour to hour. 

Life lives new colors.
